Our MDBA Members
Buying a puppy from a good breeder is a pleasure. They study their breeds and make decisions based on breed temperament, structure and health. They give their puppies a great start on socialisation and training.
MDBA Members become breeders because they love dogs, appreciate the qualities of a particular breed or two and enjoy associating with other people who also love dogs.

Breeders work with other breeders and pet owners on pet related activities and thats why many of them compete in dog shows, trials, and
sports to prove that their dogs can conform to the highest breed standards, and have the structure and willingness to preform in a manner that is described for their breeds. Its why they share their knowledge and experience with puppy buyers and the general public.

The bottom line is that for MDBA Breeders, raising the best dogs they can is much more than any business could ever be. Its a passion, an honour, a labour of love and a huge lifelong commitment. You can reap the benefits of this when you select one of their puppies.

MDBA Members become involved in helping dogs in need of rescue/rehoming because of a love of dogs and a genuine desire to see the people who own them remain happy in their choice. They make accurate and professional assessments and don't fudge over the things people need to know about their dogs and the families who own them are well suited is a labour of love.

Our Responsible Pet Owners
At least half our members are ordinary pet owners of either purebred or crossbred dogs..
These members are pretty special in that they are happy to sign a code of conduct relating to the proper care and control of their pet, especially for the younger ones, often with their very first puppy. Our youngest pet owner member is seven year old Natalie in Canberra who comes into our form at times and is great to talk to.
Our pet owners often do the courses in basic canine first aid and nutrition or grooming and those pet owners interested in moving on to breeding at a later date do the Introduction to Canine breeding which gives them a base from which to start.
